About the Role
The role of the Uniting Church Prison Chaplain provides ministry (pastoral care and worship) to prisoners, their families and prison staff, as a representative of the Uniting Church in Australia. This is a non-placement pastor, casual position, providing chaplaincy services to two prisons: Dame Phyllis Frost Centre (DPFC, Ravenhall, 3023) and Tarrengower Women’s Prison (Nuggetty, 3463).
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
• Tertiary qualifications in theology or other relevant tertiary qualifications
• Minimum two units of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent
• Experience in pastoral ministry within an ecumenical/multi-faith context
• Previous pastoral care experience, working with women, preferably in a similar setting.
The successful candidate will:
• Have a Working with Children Check
• Have the right to work in Australia
• Undergo a National Criminal History Check before commencement
